ABOUT THE 'SCOUTS'
The club was formed in 1926 and originated when a group of Rover Scouts were chatting around a camp fire at Castle Ashby, just outside Northampton. It transpired that several of those present played rugby for a club that was soon to fold so the new club was born. The club was fairly nomadic during the early years but eventually moved to the current home in Rushmere Road in the 1960's.
Since this move the club has gone from strength to strength and has today got many things to boast about - Clubhouse with wheelchair access

In recent years the club has won the Lewis Shield several times but the Northamptonshire & District ALLIANCE CUP was the big one that always got away. Having won the Alliance Cup in 1955 the club appeared in the Final twice in the early 90's losing to Towcestrians on both occasions and hadn't had their hands on the trophy again until 2000 when they beat Mens Own in a close final.
2001 saw them retain the trophy when they gained revenge for the two Towcester defeats by beating them 18pts to 11pts at Franklins Gardens. The cup was presented by Scouts proud Chairman Keith Shurville who coincidentally was the President of the Alliance for that year - a unique occasion. 2002 saw Scouts gain a hat-trick of Alliance Cup wins when they again outplayed Towcester in the final, this time winning 16-0. The elusive league title [Midlands 3 East] was well earned with some outstanding displays, particularly the discipline shown to beat Stockwood Park by a record 131-7 margin and an all round eighty minute display in the home game against Towcester. Jon Ward and Guy Blundell finished the season as the leagues top points kicker and try scorer respectively. 2003 and 2004 saw the club playing in Midlands 2 but unfortunately, after struggling with injuries in both seasons, they were relegated back down to Midlands 3 and are rebuilding again for the future with several younger players being given a chance to perform under the watchful guidance of Michael Jones and Andy Catlett who have taken over the coaching roles. 2005 - Scouts just missed out on the play offs but in the last game of the 2006 campaign, when they were already guaranteed a play off spot, Scouts clinched the title and automatic promotion when Banbury fell at the last hurdle. This was then followed by victory against Daventry in the Lewis Shield in an exciting match that followed the Colts v ON's Oceanic Cup Final which ended in a twelve all draw.
